Atikokan Charleson Recreation Area is an area of fantastic recreational opportunities located on the northern edge of Atikokan, ON.  Summer or winter, if you prefer your activities motorized or not or maybe even a mix of both, there is something to attract every outdoor activity enthusiast.

If you like your adventure mixed with a bit of high octane, there are motocross tracks open to the public with several events throughout the racing season; a 4×4 mud racing track which holds the very popular Mudfling weekend every summer and snowmobiling on world class trails in the winter.

For those who prefer a more quiet approach to their adventure, there are a wide variety of mountain biking trails for all skill levels, horse riding trails and snowshoe trails in the winter. The lakes around Charleson provide some of the fishing and canoeing opportunities this area is famous for and is the site of canoe racing event every Canada Day.
